Getting to Facebook from your mobile phone or smartphone can be a challenge if you don’t have the application installed, are running an old version of the app, or are clicking links that take you to mobile web. Facebook has two primary mobile applications:
- Facebook for iPhone
- Facebook for Android
You can also get Facebook on your Windows Phone with Facebook for Windows Phone, but that OS is less frequently used. Go to the app store on your device and download the Facebook mobile app and login with the same user name and password that you typically use. Sometimes you’ll be prompted for your password if you haven’t logged into Facebook in a while or if you haven’t use Facebook from that device.
Facebook Mobile Login Issues
If you’re having trouble logging into Facebook from your mobile phone and are using a mobile app to login to Facebook, take the following steps to remedy the issue:
- Verify that you have the latest version of the Facebook app. Sometimes there can be login issues if you’re using an old version of the Facebook app for your phone’s operating system. You can verify that you have the latest version of the app by going into the application store for your OS and checking to see if there are available updates for you. If you see that there is an available Facebook update, get the new version of the app. Then try logging into Facebook again.
- Try deleting the Facebook app and then reinstalling it. If you can’t login reinstalling the application might help, but it’s not guaranteed to fix the issue. Sometime there are some underlying issues with the Facebook mobile app and it may need to be reinstalled. This is a nuisance but if you’re really trying to get access to your Facebook account, this may be the only way to do so.
- Login to Facebook from a desktop browser like Chrome or Safari. Your account may be locked and the Facebook account unlock flows on mobile are not necessarily as good as the desktop flows where the company has invested more time.
